Medicare Help in Austin TX
Turning 65 or reviewing your coverage? A licensed advisor helps you compare Medicare Supplement (Medigap), Medicare Advantage, and Part D prescription plans.
Medicare Basics
The four parts in plain English, so you know what each one does before you choose anything.
Part A — Hospital
Covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing care, hospice, and some home health care.
Part B — Medical
Covers doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and durable medical equipment.
Part C — Medicare Advantage
An all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare, often with drug coverage and extra benefits like dental or vision.
Part D — Prescription Drugs
Covers prescription medications, either as a standalone plan alongside Original Medicare or built into many Advantage plans.
When to Enroll
Two windows matter most. Miss them and coverage can cost more, so it pays to plan ahead.
Initial Enrollment Period
A seven-month window that starts three months before your 65th birthday month, includes your birthday month, and ends three months after it. Enrolling on time helps you avoid late-enrollment penalties.
Annual Enrollment Period
October 15 to December 7. Change Medicare Advantage plans, move between Advantage and Original Medicare, or add or change Part D prescription coverage for the year ahead.
